What do you get when you allow a database administrator full access to cardmember data? You guessed it. Theft. Former American Express employee, Timothy Curley, was arrested in Phoenix at Sky Harbor Airport. He and another individual purportedly charged a cool million to real American Express cardmember accounts.
Credit card companies are supposed to have information security policies and automatic controls in place based on a variety of Federal laws to prevent and deter such thefts.
